Day 151 – Urban Safari

on
Today we kind of wandered around and took pictures. Or at least we all wandered around as I took pictures. Some are things I have been wanting to photograph while others are just great opportunities.

LOVE the graffiti on this building

This was on a building I was photographing. Liked the corner brickwork on this building.

This old building siting on a rail line is now a bunch of lofts.

Yes, I am bike-curious.

And I do believe that evil Smurfs are poo fingers.

We have no idea what this is, but you can see how large it is when you compare it to the building next to it.  Gotta love industrial areas.

This tire swing is in the middle of a neighborhood on an old lot where some apartments were torn down. This is one set of stairs that goes to a now empty lot – similar to the lot the above picture was taken.

Portland has a zoning rule that says if a house is torn down, that two must be built in its place. Whoever had this log built two hobbit like cottages in its place – in the middle of a trendy neighborhood. They also used a lot of recycled goods. Indigo called this neighborhood the colorful neighborhood.

Same neighborhood was where we spotted this garden dragon. The teeth are old Bud Light cans.

And this is what the weather was like most of the weekend. It was supposed to be a dry weekend, but as Dave – the weather guy on our local station said – they messed up the forecast today.  Yes, yes the did.  All of you with warm weather, would you send some our way? We could all use some dry warm weather.  Please?

Cool pictures! I think I’ll have to do my own urban safari when I’m in Baltimore this week
