In our house, we have my tools and his tools. My tools are important things. Screw drivers, hammers, drills, drill bits, etc. His tools are the router, circular saw, reciprocating saw, etc. Why is it like this? Because if those things on my list are mine, then they will not get lost. They will not get misplaced or loaned out by Garbanzo. Why? They aren’t his.
Before we got the house, I learned quickly that he likes to lose things or misplace them. How did I learn this? Well, I would go to take apart the computer to fix it – and not be able to find the tools I need. You see, I love tools. I love tearing things apart and putting them back together. I’m far from shy with using them.
Garbanzo mixed up my drill bits with his dad’s drill bits. Error’ing on the side of caution, he gave his dad back the lot. Then bought me a new set. I’ll be locking these away.
I’ve mentioned that gender roles are not typical in our house, right?
