Day 306 – Fondue

I’m not a huge fan of cheese.  I will eat it, but I will not eat my body weight in it.  In fact, you will rarely see me just eating a piece of cheese.  Just not how I am.

Indigo decided the other day that she wanted to go to The Melting Pot for her birthday dinner.  Why? They have cheese.  And, DJ has been talking about her trip there with Garbanzo for about a year now.  She has been obsessed with going since that day.  The idea of bubbling cheese on the table was just too enticing for her to ignore.

I knew fully that I was taking one for the team. I was in the minority – I would deal with the fact I was not the cheese loving fiends that the rest are.  I will have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. Pretty good overall.  But, DAMN! Go for happy hour because the prices for the dinners are just insane!  As I said to Garbanzo as we were leaving, I think Indigo got her birthday party this year.

We had an interesting waiter though – John Paul from Mississippi who came to Portland via Boston last December. He did a great job serving us.  And, he made Indigo feel special by coming by the table to check on Miss Indigo as he called her.  She told him all about her red velvet birthday cake. I thought that guy was going to fall over at the mention of it.  Being a good southern boy, he was salivating at the idea that someone was having red velvet cake (homemade) with cream cheese frosting for their birthday.  He earned his tip.  As Garbanzo said, he knows that most of that was John Paul playing up aspects of himself so we would love and tip him well.  Garbanzo did it himself when he waited tables.  Despite the fact he saw the game he felt he needed to applaud the guy for playing it well.

And, because it was a nice restaurant, we all had to dress up.  For those of you who do not follow my husband on Twitter, here is what I was wearing.

Oh, and for the record, Garbanzo agrees with many that there should be a boots-on policy for sex.

Glad Indigo had a great dinner!! I hope having a well-mannered Southern boy as the waiter (the drooling over red velvet cake is genetic) added to her enjoyment!! :):)

  2. Mmmmmm Cheese. We have a melting pot by us. Hopefully Hubman will take me there for dinner one night.

That’s where we’re different. I love cheese and could eat a whole block of cheese by myself…that’s where I start getting into problems though. But it tastes so good.

    Nice outfit!

  4. I don’t care for cheese myself except melted and mixed with pasta and meat sauce. But we love oir Fondue place too, mainly for the melted chocolate desserts though.

Smart waiters understand that kids are the key to a family dining experience keep them happy, you will get a good tip.

HOW CAN YOU NOT LIKE CHEESE?!?!?! LOL

God. I could LIVE off of cheese. Wait. I think I do, lol. Just about everything I eat has cheese in it or on it.

The Melting Pot is my absolute *FAVORITE* place on earth. It’s where my husband likes to take me when he wants to spoil me. 🙂

Oh and I LOVE your outfit. Love love love it!
