Day 254 – Ready for Some Football?

We rushed home from taekwondo tonight because – THE CHARGERS ARE PLAYING!!

That would be Garbanzo’s reaction.

Derek’s reaction: “But I want to watch ‘To Wong Foo Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar’!  He’s not home yet, let’s start watching and tell him he’s too late.”

Ironically enough, upon hearing about Patrick Swazye’s death, all I could think of was his character in that movie.  Vida Boheme who says things like “Internal combustion, the ultimate accessory.”

But, I defended my poor Garbanzo.  He had a bad day at work, and was looking forward to football.

So, Garbanzo sat on the couch, beer in his hand, iPhone on his lap, and watched football.  And tried to teach Derek about football.  Let’s just say, I was personally entertained by the whole thing – and I’m not talking about the game.  Listening to my husband swear is, well, funny as I am the one who swears in our house.  It just sounds funny coming from his mouth.

And, here is our own Miss Chi-Chi Rodriguez:

And for Derek:

Noxeema Jackson: Little latin boy in drag, why are you crying?
Miss Chi-Chi Rodriguez: It’s just cause the tow of you are so pretty, you know. You’re so pretty.
Vida Boheme: Yes, of course we’re pretty, but why are you crying?

Poor Garbonzo.. The patience of a saint, he has..
And yes, that movie is completely sweet and hilarious.. And I’m sad poor Patrick didn’t have the opportunity to battle his disease any longer than he did..
    BUT THE CHARGERS ARE PLAYING!!!
Football is just lost on some.. :):):)

  4. So is the awesomeness that is Road House. Ghost my ass, that was his finest work.

Though To Wong Fu always has a special place in my heart because my stupidly conservative father went to see it cause, and I quote, ‘i thought it was an undercover cop film’. Hahaha. God I wish I could have seen his gave as he realized what it was about.

  5. Foo. Sheesh apparently I thought it was a martial arts flick.

  6. Dana says:

As it turned out, although the Chargers won, they weren’t really “playing” anyway *wink*

  7. garbonzo says:

The game was a real nail-biter and my fantasy football team had a lot riding on it!!!

And, Yes, THE CHARGERS WERE PLAYING!!!!

We can watch To Wong Foo if you like. Or there is the awesomeness that is Point Break. Sad how that is an overlooked masterpiece.
