Day 249 – A Real Butt

I decided to take advantage of being home along to go through the kids’ room to clean it but also to thin the toy herd.  As I’m putting things away, I come across DJ’s journal open on her desk.

I love the fact she is keeping journals.  She has for years and has done so with no guidance from us.  I think her love of the book Diary of a Wimpy Kid and all of the sequels has helped encourage this along.

What did I learn today? I learned this:

In case you can’t read it:
“…sometimes I get soaked. I love rain.  But I hate it when my mom makes me come inside.  She can sometimes be a butt.”

Proof once more that I’m doing my job.  Woo-hoo!

I was actually just talking to another blogger friend about this last night.  He had asked about what it’s like to be a parent.  This is a great example!  And, see, I told you my kids  like to play in the rain and get everything muddy when they come inside.  They even admit it.

As a total side note – these books are great for the reluctant reader.  Check them out!

Yeah, moms can be such pains!!!
    ((insert serious eye-rolling here))
    :):):)

  2. That’s not so bad. My buddy’s nephew turned in a mother’s day paper claiming his mom’s favorite food was ‘penus’. (I’m assuming it was peanuts though je swears she’s allergic)

At least she didn’t call you a bitch.

Paige – you are so right about moms! 🙂

RLofTFC – That’s hilarious! And about as good as my other daughter (look thru the blog to find it) who did a thing on the human body and put the tongue between the person’s legs “where it’s supposed to go.” Yeah.

True, my love, at least she didn’t call me that. Not that it would have created any different of a response. 🙂

  5. Oh man, I’m dying! I will go looking!

Omg I thought the last word said bitch until you clarified it.

    Eeep.

Having said that, you are doing your job and a damn good one of being a mommy. After all, we can’t let kids do everything they want.

  7. I think that that is very funny! DJ rocks!
