Zombies Make Everything Better

My life is being overrun by zombies, and I’m trying to understand how that is happening.

Derek has been playing a lot of his zombie game, and I started reading a book about zombies.  Okay, not about zombies per say, but more with zombies in it.

A week ago at work, two of my coworkers were lamenting the fact they were re-reading Pride and Prejudice.  I inquired why – they clearly were not enjoying it, so why would they put themselves through it.  They wanted to read it again before tackling Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.  The subtitle, if you will:

The Classic Regency Romance – Now with Ultraviolent Zombie Mayhem!

I have never been much of a zombie person.  Yeah, I know what they are.  I know people play the what-if game of “what would you do if the zombies attacked right now”.  I’ve never been one of those people.  Hell, there are very few zombie movies I’ve watched.

I was looking for a book to read on my Kindle, when I came across it.  I thought, “what the hell” and downloaded it.  To be honest, I have never been able to make my way though Pride and Prejudice.  I have tried, but give up when I find I am merely looking at the words, not actually reading them.  And my mind has drifted elsewhere too.

I love this version.  The author does a great job bringing zombies into the story while keeping the tone of the original story in tact.  The book has my attention and continues to keep it.   The author’s twisted humor when it comes to adding zombies into the story line is brilliant.

While I am over halfway through it, I would strongly recommend it as a fun read.  If you endured the book in your life, reward yourself with this story.  Even if you find the story more in the “eh” space, I believe you will enjoy the illustrations.  Yes, it has illustrations too!  They are great….a bit on the dark side, but great!

So, if you are looking for an entertaining read this summer, pick it up.

  1. Sounds good. I know I tried to slog my way through P&P lately and just got bored and skipped to the end to see who everyone married.
