Day 39 – Up Early…Again

The positive side of being up early today was that it wasn’t as early as I have been waking up.  I think I got about 6-7 hours of sleep last night.  Can’t complain about that!  I hope this means I am getting on the other side of the insomnia.  Keep your fingers crossed.

I took advantage of being up early and the fact it is a clear day today and took some sunrise pictures again.  I had an idea of where I would go this time – and it worked out.  Would have worked out better if I could have taken my DSLR versus Garbanzo’s point & shoot, but that’s what happens when I leave the camera on and plugged into the computer all night.  Thankfully, I actually chose Garbanzo’s camera for him as a gift, so I knew it wouldn’t be too disappointed.

Mt Hood is in the distance.  And, if you look carefully, you can see the fog that is sitting in the valley two the east of Portland.  It is one of the things I love about being out here.  You get these contrasts.

That’s Mount St Helens on the left.  And those lines running through the picture are for the tram.  Oregon Health Sciences University is a hospital and medical school that is “up on the hill”.  When they needed to expand, they got a plan approved to build on the riverfront and connect the two locations with a tram.  And, the view is of downtown Portland.

And like last time, Bob took the trip with me.  The Dog is my co-pilot.  I love this dog.  Of all of the dogs I have ever had, he is one of the greatest.  And, since he didn’t try to jump off a bridge like he tried to last time, I am going to assume his life is going well enough that his suicidal tendencies have passed.
