Parting Is Such Sweet Sorrow….

“To conclude then: fortune varies but men go on regardless. When their approach suits the times they’re successful, and when it doesn’t they’re not.  My opinion on the matter is this: it’s better to be impulsive than cautious; fortune is female and if you want to stay on top of her you have to slap and thrust.  You’ll see she’s more likely to yield that way than to men who go about her coldly.  And being a woman she likes her men young, because they’re not cagey, they’re wilder and more daring when they master her. ”

~”The Prince” Machiavelli

I’m not sure I was supposed to like “The Prince” as much as I did.  This will be one I will read again and again.  I have made so many notes in that book.  What’s even funnier? The fact my boss is amused at how much I love the book.  I keep reminding him that we should draw from “The Prince” for how to deal with things.  Then I give him the passage.

It may be starting to scare people.

Nothing wrong with that happening as far as I’m concerned.

Sadly, the last book for the upcoming class is about someone’s experience as a Jew in a concentration camp.  Going from one kind of death and destruction to another.

I will miss Machiavelli though.  I know we will meet again.

Soon.
