We woke up to 12 inches of snow. As the local weather guy pointed out, last year, we had 1.3 inches of snow…..in total. I live in a city that is unable to truly deal with the snow situation. It doesn’t make financial sense to keep and maintain the number of plows, sanders and deicing machines that would be necessary to keep this city up and running. Though, I think people could make a case for it after the last six weeks and the lost work and school experienced by the city. The kids (and G) are on their 6th snow day for the year, and number 7 is happening tomorrow as the district has already called school off. We are not slated to thaw until Monday when the concerns will go from snow and ice to flooding. The photo I wish I had? One of my 13-yr-old severely arthritic black lab begging to go outside to play in the snow. The girls took him and Maggie out for a walk late last night. He came back covered in snow and grinning in a way I have not seen him do in forever. Snow definitely brings out the kid in people and dogs.
