My Valentines – A Poly Version

I love you, not only for what you are, but for what I am when I am with you. – Roy Croft

I guess I am luck.  Nah, no guessing – I know I am lucky.  I have one love who I have grown up with – who I have a crazy life with – who I been on a crazy rollercoaster of a ride with for 22+ years.  And we still are talking to each other – we still love each other – and we can still laugh when we feel like life has us backed into a corner.  And we still know what the other needs even if they don’t know it at the time.

Then I have another love.  Another love who brings me to balance, who adds so much to my life that I often wonder how I got this far without it.  While we have had quite a year together – ups, downs, communication breakdowns – coming back together was like coming back home after a long stressful trip. The trip was necessary but being back home feels so much better.

I am beyond loved – beyond lucky – and beyond thankful for what I have.  I can only hope they both know how much I love them – how much they each add to my life – and how much I enjoy growing with them and learning about myself.  I can only hope I bring as much to them as they do to me.

I love you, G – you whacky kilted guy with comics all over the bedroom, who makes up theme songs for the pets that you sing to them, and who rocks as a Dad.  Thank you for taking this journey in life with me.

I love you, SB – my Daddy – my friend – the man who can make me cry with a beating, then can tuck me into bed with kisses on the forehead as I’m curled up against you.  Thank you for sharing your life and who you are with me.

What do you think?
