Breaking Down a Weird Dream

I have weird dreams.

And the crazier they are, the more I have to look at them to figure out why.

Last night, I had a dream I was at the vet with the dog. Not unsurprising given I have to take my puppy into the vet once a week so she can be weighed – and her medication can be adjusted. And because their scale is different in the lobby versus the exam room, I had to wait with her for 30 minutes while we waited to get her official weight.

So to dream I was in the office – an open area where dogs and owners are waiting to go in to see the vet – was not to unsurprising.

"To see a veterinarian in your dream indicates that you need to tame your instinctive behavior and subconscious self so that it is more socially acceptable."

Too bad I never saw a vet.

But the fact I was in a waiting room….

"To dream that you are in a waiting room symbolizes your patience. You have an ability to remain calm, even during a crisis."

I should mentioned they were all dogs waiting. All dogs. Bull dogs, weiner dogs, labs, and my own dog.

"To see a dog in your dream symbolizes intuition, loyalty, generosity, protection, and fidelity. The dream suggests that your strong values and good intentions will enable you to go forward in the world and bring you success. The dream dog may also represent someone in your life who exhibits these qualities. "

"To see a bulldog in your dream signifies that some protective force is helping you move forward in life."

"To see a Dachshund in your dream highlights your loyalty and devotion to others. You are well grounded and rational in your thinking."

"To see a Great Dane in your dream refers to your strong will, good nature and easy going attitude. You need to learn to be an independent thinker and not let others influence you too much."

There seemed to be this great emphasis of keeping the fleas out of the building.

"To see fleas in your dream signify that you will be provoked into anger and manipulated into retaliation by someone close to you."

I saw friends and cohorts in the room with their dogs. Ironically, the PM that annoys me with his constant questioning had a bulldog. Another person I knew had a dachshund who jumped in a giant fish tank because it wanted to swim laps. And people were worried about the tank now being unclean.

"To see or clean a fish tank in your dream indicates how you have full control of your emotions. You keep your feelings in check."

Then several of us went to dinner.

"To dream that you are eating dinner with others signifies your acceptance or others. It is a time to reflect and share past experiences. It also suggests that you see everyone as an equal."

Where we knocked over a wine glass.

"To see a wine glass in your dream represents happiness."

The images of the dream are interesting – and clearly I’m feeling like happiness has been knocked over, I’m trying to keep people from manipulating me into anger, by fully controlling my emotions – and clearly I see myself as, like a dog – in a good way.

Yeah, I’m working through some things …..
yet….
stilll….

I have weird dreams.

What do you think?
