Day 122 – A Moment in Time

on

After Dana from Amid Life’s Crises posted something on Twitter yesterday about this project, I had to do it. It is the Moment in Time project being done by the NY Times Photography Blog. At 15:00 UTC, they asked people to take a picture at that moment. At this moment, Garbanzo was getting ready to mount his bike and go for a bike ride.  For me, I thought it was an appropriate shot because of where we live. A land where on a non-rainy Sunday morning you will find people mounting their bikes and going for long rides on the streets. I live in a city that is a bicyclists’ haven. I was just happy he happened to be heading out at that moment.

It will be interesting to see what comes out as they post pictures. Check out their blog here to see what people captured around the world. The first set of 23 pics are quite amazing.

Oh, and by the way, I must note – post-production on the pictures submitted was supposed to be minimal – like crop only and maybe a change to B&W. They aren’t double checking, but it definitely it did make for a more interesting experience knowing you kinda had limited shots to get it right.

I’ve been browsing through the Facebook uploads for the project and there really is some amazing photography … and not so much from a technical standpoint, but from the feelings conveyed!
