I couldn’t decide which one I liked. Plus, while I liked the B&W version given how it almost looks like it was taken in fog with the background washed out like it was, I liked the colors of second one. Also, the color of this plant (I have no idea what it is, and my neighbor who has it in her yard does but wasn’t home), is simply amazing. Yes, I did use an HDR type of treatment on it because I liked how it made all of the colors pop. You can tell I did if you look in the upper right-hand corner.
I seem to be liking my study of plants lately. I have been having fun playing with shutter speed, white balance and aperture as I take them. Easier than a moving subject, IMO. And if I pick the right plant, I can walk around it experimenting with light and angles.
