Random Musing of a Sleep Deprived Mind

Hi!
I have had about 3 hrs of sleep maybe. This is after a day where I got up too early for a Saturday. Ran 4 miles. Rushed to go see my daughter do her belt test in taekwondo. Rushed home to get the girls ready to spend the night at a friend’s house. Rushed to get ready to go to the house party. Then went to the house party where we didn’t leave until 3am meaning we didn’t get home until about 4am. Then we had to have sex – because, well, you have to have “finish up sex”, as a friend calls it.  Then we had to be up and at our friend’s house to pick up the kids by a 9am which means we were up by 8am.

Here are some bullet points of a sleep deprived mind:

  • My first day of work is tomorrow (or today when this posts). I am really not nervous about it even though I know I have a huge undertaking ahead of me. Either I’ve mellowed with this 4-month vacation and am rested and ready to go – or I figure it can’t be anything worse than the last company. I think it’s the former, but I can’t tell.
  • I am likely going to have to come out to my husband’s friend from high school. She is learning too much. And can connect the dots if she wanted to do it. Turns out she is friends with some good friends of the female half of the couple we play with. (Did you follow that?) They met over drinks the other night where the woman mentioned knowing Emmy. This woman while a sweet and sexually fun person is not good at creating cover stories on the fly nor is is good at using the concocted one. This friend is someone who can really take the news, so I’m not worried about her reaction. Just not sure I’m ready for the talk. We’ll see. She and I like to drink good beers together, so who knows what will happen when we drink next time.
  • My neck is sore from two things on Saturday night. The first is have two people who really loved pulling my hair.  And I really enjoyed it – so all was VERY good. One of the guys also discovered that I like having my neck bitten. It was a recently discovery for me too. (Thanks, TL!) So, when he did it to me, my reaction egged him on.  It was all good. But the two things have made for a sore neck. Damn those good reminders of a fun night.
  • I hope there is a place I can shower at when working downtown. I really want to be able to run at lunch. Those pictures I posted yesterday – that would be what I would see on my running route. Who wouldn’t be motivated by it?
  • My old boss kinda pissed me off last week when she finally contacted me to let me know she accepted my resignation. Really, she wanted the laptop that I have. I didn’t have to give her 2 weeks of notice, but I did it out of respect and courtesy for her. She’ll get it this week. I’m going to send it with a neighbor who still works there. I’m not wasting my time driving it down.
  • I have watched too much iCarly. I’ve decided I like her friend Sam. We also like spotting the scenes that are actually Portland and not Seattle.
  • I really need to make sure that I don’t drink the Friday night before a run. Running after drinking beer – too much beer – is not fun.
  • I will be doing a blog post or two about the house party we went to this weekend – but I’m still processing it – to be honest.  A lot of great stuff happened.  I had a great time.

I’m going to sleep now.
Hope everyone has a great Monday.

  1. Good luck with your first day of work. And we can’t wait to hear about the party.

  2. I’m training for a half marathon this fall and yes, drinking the night before a long run is so not fun! Makes my legs feel like bowling balls. Good for you to still put in four miles… I’d probably have just rolled over and logged a few more zzz’s!

  3. Good luck on your first day….

I like it that you keep in shape by running, I run too. I would be so fat without it.
