Day 6 – Allergy Fun

Indigo had to have an allergy test today. They want to figure out what, if anything, she is allergic to.  See the red splotch in the middle? That’s the control spot.  It is the only one that did that.  Others were slightly irritated, but nothing to write home about.  Good news for Indigo – no allergy.  Now we are in a wait and see pattern in terms of her ears.  Three months is the period of time. Oh, and I also learned that the girls’ pediatrician is seen by the specialist as someone who doesn’t refer unnecessarily. She is well respected which is always a good thing to hear.  And the allergist she referred us to? He had her same approach to things – don’t medicate unless we have to, no unnecessary testing, etc.

I did pull a fun joke on Garbanzo though.  Because they tested all of the pets too, the included a check for chicken allergies.  I told him when he asked via text, that she was allergic to chickens.  When he came back and asked if I was serious, I said “yes, the allergist says there has been an increase too because of the amount of urban chicken farming occurring in the city.  He is seeing more and more cases.”  Then, I followed up with “and it’s a pretty serious allergy too – gets worse with age if exposure isn’t limited.”  By this point, he’s freaking out (via text).  He’s like “Fuck, I’ve gotta find chickens homes now.”  I told him that wouldn’t be a good idea since I was giving him shit.  I couldn’t resist given how chicken obsessed those three are!

Not funny. I was going through my mental rolodex of who would take the chickens!!!! It was stressful!

I remember having those shots on my back to determine what I am allergic to. I remember it being quite painful for me.
