Day 250 – St Helens

Osbasso and I were chatting the other day when he mentioned how much he loved Mt St Helens.  I am very lucky that when the clouds are gone, I get a beautiful view of it as well as the other mountains (volcanoes) in the Cascade Range.

While far from the best picture of it, it isn’t too bad given the sun was in the wrong, the distance I was from the mountain, and the speed of which I was having to take the picture (I was blocking traffic to take it).  Had I been able to, I could have shown you the 4 mountain view today – St Helen’s, Mt Hood, Mt Adams, and Mt Rainier, I believe.  On a really clear day, you can see Mt Jefferson too.   But, alas, I could only take a picture of St Helens.

Want to see St Helens live?  Check out the VolcanoCams. Watched this a lot when the dome went through rebuilding eruptions a few years ago.  It was pretty cool.

I love that area! You are lucky to live there! Thanks for sharing it with us!

Oh, you do know how to get a guy hot and bothered, don’t you? 😛

I’ve been lucky enough to be there to get the 4 mountain view. Spectacular!

  3. Volcanos and mountains in general are pretty cool. I’ve never been anywhere where I couldn’t see one and it kind of weirds me out to think of being in the Midwest for that (among many) reasons 🙂
