Osbasso asked me a question today:
“OK…not possessing an iPhone, but having an iPod Touch…how did you get a screenshot of that? “
Good question! This is a hidden feature I have heard was put into the iPhone by engineers so that they can capture and communicate errors correctly. Screen shots are huge when troubleshooting hardware/software issues.
So, here is how you do it:
Press the “Home Button” and the “Sleep/Wake button” at the same time. You don’t have to hold them down for a long time, just press them once simultaneously. The screen will flash in a manner similar to what the iPhone looks like when it takes a picture. (Think camera flash if you’ve never seen it before.) After it does that, go into your Pictures section on your phone or iPod, and you should see the screenshot there.
From there, if you have an iPhone, you can send it via email. Or (like you can with the iPod Touch), you can synch it next time you are connected to your computer. I did verify that this works on both devices. I’m a geek – I have both. I’ll admit it. 🙂
So, there you go. Screen capture to your heart’s delight! Enjoy!
