Now We Are Six

My youngest is 6 today.  It’s hard to believe how much she has grown up.  As a baby, she was my calm one.  She liked to sleep.  She liked to eat.  She was fussy, but not nearly as bad as the oldest was.

She was pretty much walking/running by the time she was one.  And, she was clearly going to be my “curly girlie” with her curly hair.

And, she was our quiet girl.  She knew how to get what she wanted without yelling and screaming.  If she wanted milk, she would bring us the jug ‘o milk.  We were always amazed how well she communicated without words (or big sister doing it for her).

She was always our dog lover.  She has been drawn to dogs since she was one.  She has, to this day, about 10 favorite stuffed animals that are all dogs including the infamous Ike LaRue who is kind of pushy and rude for a stuffed animal, but loves her very much.

She is also the nudist in our house.  She will still, to this day, come home from someplace strip off all of her clothes.  If you ask her why, she will say she’s hot or that her pants are making her itchy.  The reality – she just loves being naked.

She is also our little tough kid.  She has more injuries than our oldest ever did because she is the most daring and driven to do something.  This summer, the running joke was that she would learn how to ride her bike before the oldest would.  In the end, there was about a two week gap between when the oldest learned and when she learned, but the fact it only took her too weeks longer than her sister who is 2 years older than she is, is pretty impressive.

So, Happy Birthday My Monkey!  And, stop growing up so fast, I can’t keep up!!

    Happy birthday little girl!

And is that a peak of the blog author hiding behind her in the second photo?

  3. Michelle says:

Nope. That’s the “slip of a girl” my hubby refers to on his blog entry about how he ended on a gay rugby team. 🙂
